Highlight video for MauiWES, showing their ongoing efforts in helping the communities of Maui, mainly Lahaina. For the last year, they have tested almost 2,000 Maui residents for heavy metals exposure, chronic respiratory diseases and even mental health screenings, and plan to continue testing and helping these survivors for many years to come.

MauiWES was created by UH Epigenomics & Economics professors Dr. Alika Maunakea & Dr. Ruben Juarez with the help of many organizations including the Maui Strong Fund, National Institutes of Health, the State of Hawaii, Kaiser Permanente and many others. Honored to work with the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii @cochawaii to create this ‘Year in Review’ presentation for their 174th Annual Membership Banquet.

It’s inspiring to see the incredible work the Chamber does to empower Hawaii’s diverse communities, bridging opportunities across students, the private and public sectors, and even the military.
