My journey into the world of videography began during my college years, right here in Hawaii, where I embarked on an internship at Olelo Television. It was there that my passion for capturing stories through video was ignited.

One particular moment stands out: when my school received a Kellogg Foundation grant to carve a traditional 57′ double-hulled Hawaiian Voyaging canoe from logs imported from Fiji. With the blessings of both the canoe project director and Olelo, I embarked on documenting the entire carving process, spanning a year.

This endeavor culminated in the creation of “The Birthing of Iosepa,” a documentary that traveled to various film festivals across the United States, including the prestigious Hawaii International Film Festival in 2002. It was during those moments that I realized my calling lay in the art of visual storytelling.

Following my time in Hawaii, I journeyed to Southern California to pursue further education, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film & Television Production. But the pull to beautiful Hawaii was strong, and in 2005, I returned to start Hawaii Video Pro.

Alongside my work in video production, I’ve dedicated over a decade to teaching Video Production and other Communication courses at Chaminade University of Honolulu, Hawaii Pacific University & BYU-Hawaii. Yet, my passion for videography eventually led me to fully commit myself to the craft.
